Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-28
This policy lists every cookie or similar storage mechanism we set on your device, the purpose, the retention period, and how to opt out. Where the EU ePrivacy Directive applies, optional cookies are blocked until you grant consent.
Cookie categories
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function (attribution, consent storage). Cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality. Lawful basis under GDPR Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest).
Functional
Improve usability (quiz progress, experiment buckets). Optional. We do not set these without your consent in jurisdictions that require it.
Analytics
Help us understand which pages help readers. Aggregated and de-identified. Optional, consent-based per EU ePrivacy Directive.
Marketing
We do not set marketing cookies. No remarketing pixels, no programmatic ad cookies, no third-party advertising trackers.
Cookies we set
| Name | Type | Duration | Party | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| glp_lc | Strictly necessary | 30 days | First-party | Last-click affiliate attribution. Records the partner you most recently clicked through to so commission credit reaches the correct partner. |
| glp_consent | Strictly necessary | 12 months | First-party | Stores your cookie consent decision so we don't ask on every page. |
| glp_quiz | Functional | Session | First-party | Stores anonymous quiz progress so a refresh doesn't lose your answers. No personal identifiers. |
| glp_ab | Functional | 60 days | First-party | A/B test bucket assignment. Ensures consistent variant exposure across visits during an active experiment. |
| _ga / _ga_* | Analytics | 13 months | Third-party (Google) | Aggregate, anonymized analytics (page views, time-on-page, scroll depth). IP anonymization enabled. Only set when you grant analytics consent. |
| _clck / _clsk | Analytics | 12 months | Third-party (Microsoft) | Microsoft Clarity session recording for UX research. Only sampled, fully masked (no PII in recordings). Set only with analytics consent. |
What we do not set
- No programmatic advertising cookies (no Google Ads, no Facebook Pixel, no TikTok Pixel).
- No third-party remarketing or retargeting pixels.
- No social-network share-tracking cookies. Social share buttons are static links.
- No fingerprinting or device-graph tracking.
How to opt out
Use the cookie-preferences banner on any page footer to adjust your consent. You can also block or delete cookies via your browser settings — this may break some functionality (attribution, quiz progress) but will not prevent you from reading content.
California residents may also submit a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" request via privacy requests. We do not sell personal information; this opt-out also stops sharing click identifiers with partners.
Third-party processors
Where we use third-party tools (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity), the processor receives only aggregated, IP-anonymized data. We do not share quiz responses, email addresses, or first-party identifiers with third-party analytics processors.
Changes
If we add or remove a cookie, this page is updated and the “Last updated” date above is changed. Material changes are also announced via a banner shown to returning visitors for 30 days.
